In 2020 the UK Statistics Authority launched its new strategy: Statistics for the public good. It sets out a radical vision for the UK official statistics system, sets the overarching mission and describes the core principles that underpin the mission. The strategy will seek to deliver high quality data to inform the UK, improve lives and build for the future.

The ONS has a lead role to play in this revolution and the ONS Strategic Business Plan sets out how we will contribute towards the delivery of the UKSA strategy, including the immediate challenges of COVID-19.

ONS will work in partnership with the GSS, data providers and the analytical and research communities to deliver against the core principles in the UKSA strategy, and the resources that will be required to do so.
