Thank you for your recent enquiry in relation to the number of cases of domestic violence reported against Muslim women. We however, are not able to provide you with the data that you have requested as it is not something that we collect.

We publish crime data from two sources. These are the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime. The CSEW is a household survey collecting respondent's experiences of crime. The other data source is taken from police recorded crime which are crimes reported to and recorded by the police.

In relation to domestic abuse, the latest data that we have available is for year ending March 2019. Tables 6a and 6b provide estimates from the CSEW on domestic abuse. This is disaggregated by religion type for men and women and can be accessed in the Domestic abuse victim characteristics, England and Wales: year ending March 2019 publication.

The data that we publish is in relation to England and Wales. We are unable to provide any further geographic breakdown as the sample size would be too small and the estimates would not be robust enough.

We do not hold data for the police recorded crime disaggregated by type of religion. You could try contacting the Home Office who provide the data to us to see whether this is something that they are able to provide. Their email address is: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk

If you have any crime-related queries in the future, you can email crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will try our best to help.
