Data are only available where cause of death has been coded using the Tenth Revision of the International Classification of Diseases. Deaths registered in 1999 were coded to both ICD–9 and ICD–10 as part of a special study to compare the two ICD revisions. The data for deaths registered in 1999 can be found in the respective data set which accompanies this release.
In 2015 the average number of days between date of death and death registration was 4 days for C.difficile, MRSA and S. aureus.
