Thank you for your request for statistics for each of the listed areas in relation to (a) arrests for assault and battery offences on Devon and Cornwall police, who were perceived to be under influence of alcohol, (b) where and when this offence took place and (c) information on the sex of the individual arrested.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the information relating to your request.

We publish statistics taken from the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and crimes recorded by the police. The statistics we publish mostly focus on victims of crime rather than perpetrators and we do not hold any information on arrests.

However, you may be interested in some of our published CSEW data on alcohol related violence, although these are at county level. These can be found in Table 3.10 and 3.11 of the Nature of Violence Crime Tables and Appendix table 5, 6 and 7 that accompany "The nature of violent crime in England and Wales: year ending March 2018" article.

Within this release we also publish police recorded crime data on alcohol-related violence which are sourced from the Home Office Data Hub and based on 31 police forces in Section 9 of our "The nature of violent crime in England and Wales: year ending March 2017". Figure 11 provides data on the proportion of selected violence against the person offences recorded by the police which were 'alcohol-related' in the year ending March 2018. Also, within this article we publish data from the CSEW on when and where violent crimes occur. This data is only available for England and Wales and the above data is for all violence, not for the category of violence you have requested.

We do not hold any information on the sex of offenders arrested for assault and battery offences.

The Home Office publish arrest statistics within their annual Police powers and procedures England and Wales statistics releases, but these tables do not include a breakdown of alcohol related arrests.

You may wish to contact the Home Office directly to see if they can help you further. They can be contacted at the following email address: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk
