Please provide the following information;
- Frequency of visits in the UK from 2015 compared to 2019
- The value of visits in the UK in 2015 compared to 2019 by region
- Frequency of visits by purpose in 2019 (Business, Holiday, etc) by region in the UK
- Overseas residents' visits to the UK by month per region over 2019
- Average spend per visit in 2015 to 2019 in the UK per region

Thank you for your request for data on visits to the UK from overseas. We publish estimates or visits to and from the UK based on the International Passenger Survey (IPS). Please note that we have not yet published annual estimates for 2019; we plan to publish these in May 2020.
There were an estimated 36,115,000 visits to the UK by overseas residents in 2015. In the most recent year for which figures are available, 2018, there were an estimated 37,905,000 visits.
Numbers of visits to the UK and spending in the UK by overseas residents by geographic areas and purpose of visit can be found in tables 4.03, 4.12a and 4.12b of our annual publication, Travel Trends. The Excel file with the tables referenced can be found via the following link:
There are separate links within for individual years, including 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Data for 2019 will be added when the figures are published.
Unfortunately, we do not publish visits by overseas residents by region by month, because the survey sample size is not large enough to support such estimates reliably. However, you can find visits by quarter for larger geographic areas in table 2.18 of Travel Trends. This can be accessed via the following link and select "2014 to 2018" within:
