You asked

Please provide weekly Death figures for England and Wales for 2015-2020 up to the week that this FOI request is approved. This is to be presented by ICD-10 category code.

Suggest ICD-10 code in the rows, and week in the columns. If necessary keep data for each year on it's own tab in the workbook.

I would like the data set sent by email and available on the ONS website. I would also appreciate the data set to be updated on a weekly basis.

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the table you have requested.

A table with specific data criteria such as this would need to be created by our health data team. This would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime as we are not obliged to create data sets in order to respond to requests. Therefore, the information outlined in your request is not available.

We can however provide the following COVID-19 data sets available:

Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional. This provides provisional counts of the number of deaths registered in England and Wales, by age, sex and region, in the latest weeks for which data are available. It includes the most up-to-date figures available for deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19). This dataset will provide weekly deaths from 2010 to 2020. With the exception of Respiratory deaths and COVID 19, ICD breakdown is not available for provisional data.

This is updated every Tuesday.

A further weekly deaths ad hoc is available under the ONS open data policy.

Deaths registered weekly from 1993 to 2018 by region, England and Wales. This provides weekly deaths but not broken down by ICD10 chapter.

Our Death registered series or NOMIS will provide deaths registered 2013 – 2018 by sex, age, region and local authority and by ICD 10 chapter. This will provide only annual deaths. Deaths for 2019 will be published in July 2020.
