Unfortunately, we (The Centre for Crime and Justice at the Office for National Statistics) only hold aggregate data for England and Wales. Data regarding 'Breaking into a vehicle with the intention to steal from the vehicle', are categorised by the police as 'theft from a vehicle'. This includes attempted thefts. Therefore, we do not hold the breakdown of data you have requested.

However, the numbers of 'theft from a vehicle' offences recorded by the police in England and Wales, from the year ending March 2010 to the year ending December 2019, can be found in Appendix Table A4 (line 161) of our latest published 'Crime in England and Wales, year ending December 2019 release. Unfortunately, we do not publish data on police recorded 'theft from a vehicle' offences for any lower level geographies.
