We are not responsible for the collection of infection data, this is led by Public Health England (PHE). Therefore, we are unable to provide infection data, as we do not hold this information.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with the specific information you have requested, regarding COVID-19 deaths at Bupa Sandhills Court Care Home. The figures that would be involved in an answer to this request would be very small and could prove to be disclosive. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it a criminal offence to release personal information. Personal information is any information held by the Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual or a body corporate. This includes deceased individuals. As disclosure of the requested information is prohibited by another enactment, the information is considered exempt by Section 44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Section 44 is an absolute exemption, so no test of the public interest is required.

However, please see the following publication regarding care home deaths: Number of deaths in care homes notified to the Care Quality Commission, England. Table 2 contains deaths involving COVID-19 occurring in care homes, by Local Authority and day of notification up to 19 June 2020. This report is updated weekly, the next release is scheduled for 30 June 2020.
