Public microdata teaching sample, England and Wales: Census 2021
Summary
A 1% sample of individual records from Census 2021 with no identifying information and available to all for teaching of statistics and social sciences. This public microdata sample is also available from the UK Data Service (UKDS) without the requirement to register under the guidelines of the Open Government Licence.
Our safeguarded microdata samples were made available on the UK Data Service (UKDS) in October 2023. Only data analysts registered with the UKDS can access them under the terms and conditions of the UK Data Service End User Licence (PDF, 216KB).
Our secure microdata samples will soon be available through the Integrated Data Service only to accredited researchers.
Our Integrated Public Use Microdata Series (IPUMS) safeguarded microdata sample will be available to analysts on the IPUMS international website. Analysts need to register, provide information on their project and agree to the terms and conditions of access. The unharmonised source IPUMS sample will also be available on the UK Data Service website.
