We (ONS) are responsible for the production of birth and death statistics for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected at registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested information for the whole of the UK.
England and Wales
Figures for stillbirths registered in England and Wales from 2017 to 2022 can be found in our annual Births Summary Tables publication.
We will publish figures for England and Wales figures for 2023 in August or September 2024. Figures for 2024 will be published next year.
Scotland and Northern Ireland
