Thank you for your request.

We publish data from two main sources; the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime.

We publish data from the CSEW on Violence including Violence with injury, Wounding, Assault with minor injury and Violence without injury. The most recent CSEW data for these recorded incidents can be found in Table A1, rows 10-14 in our Appendix tables for the year ending September 2023. Data can be found in this table from the year ending December 1981, with year-on-year data available from March 2002.

We also publish data on the number of Violence offences recorded by the police. This data can be found in table A4 of our most recent appendix tables, this is also recorded year on year dating back to year ending March 2003.

The Home office publish data policing statistics including arrests data which can be found here. Additionally, their most recent publication on crime outcomes can be found here, where you can find outcomes for violence offences. For further queries the Home office can be contacted at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk

For information on charges, court data and acquittals we recommend data from the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). Links to the statistics they publish can be found here. For sentencing outcomes by offence for the year ending June 2011 to the year ending June 2023 their data tool allows you to filter by offence which can be found here. The MOJ can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk if you have further queries around these data.
